As a professional detailer, I’ve seen many vehicles with overspray issues, and I know how tempting it can be to try a quick fix. However, improper removal techniques can damage your clear coat, scratch the paint, or make the problem worse. Here’s what NOT to do:

1️⃣ Don’t Use Abrasives or Scouring Pads

🚫 Scrubbing with steel wool, scouring pads, or rough sponges will create scratches and swirl marks that require paint correction to fix.

2️⃣ Don’t Scrape with Razor Blades

🚫 While razor blades can be used on glass, they should never touch painted surfaces—one wrong move can cut deep into the clear coat.

3️⃣ Don’t Use Harsh Chemicals Like Acetone or Gasoline

🚫 Solvents like acetone, lacquer thinner, or gasoline can eat away at the clear coat and cause discoloration, leaving an uneven finish.

4️⃣ Don’t Buff It Right Away
